In addition to the sporting aspects, our events should be fun and enjoyable for everyone involved. Behave fairly and respectfully towards the other participants, volunteers, spectators and all other people involved.
Please follow the participation and competition regulations and also observe the announcements and instructions of the event staff.
Your health is the most important asset! Only take part in our events if you are well prepared and healthy. If you feel ill and feverish in the last few days before the run, you should refrain from taking part. If you do not feel well during the run (stitching in the chest, severe shortness of breath, dizziness, exhaustion, severe pain, etc.), you should interrupt the run and report to the nearest first aid post. Drink enough fluids before, during and after the run! People over the age of 35 and runners with a history of heart, circulatory or lung disease or other risk groups are recommended to undergo regular medical examinations.
Take the time to find out about the event, the locations, the catering and first aid posts, the schedule and the route well in advance. All information and details are available in detail on the event website.
Take enough time to arrive, change and collect your race number. Only go to the start area at the time specified.
At the SwissCityMarathon - Lucerne:
Each participant has their own allocated start time. Your start is possible from this time at the earliest. If you are late, you can simply start from the back of the field. Would you like to run with someone who is assigned to a different start slot? No problem - just go together to the start slot with the later start time! To ensure everyone's safety, do not climb over barriers and do not enter the start area in an unauthorised way.
The use of headphones is strongly discouraged. If you do decide to wear headphones, please make sure that you can hear all announcements and signals and be aware of your surroundings, including other participants. By doing so, you are contributing to the safety of all runners! Thank you very much!
It is strongly discouraged to use mobile devices for purposes other than recording your run while participating in the event.
Do not run in groups of three or more people side by side; wide groups are obstacles for other runners. Communicate when overtaking other runners and let others pass. Never stop abruptly. If you need to tie your shoelaces, please move to the side of the course. Be careful when spitting or blowing your nose so as not to hit other participants.
At the food stands, take drinks and food from the table furthest away to avoid a traffic jam and keep walking. There are usually several tables with drinks, so you don't have to queue at the first table.
Please dispose of your waste separately in the bins provided and do not throw it at the edge of the course or in other people's gardens. By doing so, you are supporting the work of the volunteers and helping us to keep the course and the surrounding area clean! Please take care not to hit other people.
If you encounter a runner with problems, offer help and report the incident to the nearest first aid post, a volunteer or call the emergency services on 144.
Please pay attention to the queues in front of the mobile toilets. Queue at the back and do not walk through a queue. There are usually more toilets a little further on. Leave the toilet the way you want to find it. Peeing in the wild is indecent and forbidden!
If you find any items before, during or after the run, please hand them in at an info point or to the nearest volunteer. Found items can be collected from our office after the event. All items will be kept for 30 days and then disposed of if no owner comes forward.
We know that something can always come up that prevents you from taking part in the race. But we need to know our runners on the course so that we can help them if necessary. If someone else is wearing your race number, this makes it more difficult for us to provide assistance in the event of a medical problem. We also don't know who that person's relatives are if they ask for them. If you run with someone else's bib number, we don't know you and this creates problems for you and us.
Passing on race numbers will be penalised with a disqualification and can be punished with a suspension from further SwissCityMarathon events.
