What you can contribute

  • I train locally in my area and don't drive or ride a motorbike to the training venue.
  • I travel to the event and back home by public transport.
  • I present my starter guide digitally at the Runner Expo and thus avoid unnecessary paper printouts.
  • I do not use any disposable products before the start, such as plastic covers, rubbish bags, etc., which I simply throw away at the start.
  • I voluntarily do without give-aways and goodies that I don't need.
  • I throw my used (and recyclable!) cardboard cups from the refreshment stations into the yellow containers provided at the race.
  • I dispose of packaging from my own running catering (e.g. energy gel, etc.) properly and do not throw it at the edge of the course.
  • I make sure that I do not leave anything lying around and dispose of my rubbish correctly.
  • Optional: I support the Central Switzerland project of the Oberallmeindkorporation Schwyz for optimised, functional and climate-adapted forest management in its forests with the voluntary environmental franc (=CO2 franc). The amount donated will be donated 100% to the project and will therefore directly benefit nature.

What we contribute

We are pleased to present a (small!) selection of our measures here, which have already earned us various awards from Swiss Olympic, WWF Switzerland, Saubere Veranstaltung (formerly ecosport.ch), the Federal Office for Spatial Development (ARE) and the Association of International Marathons & Distance Races (AIMS):

  • Free travel to and from the event for all participants thanks to the SwissRunners ticket
  • Provision of over 150 waste disposal stations for the proper collection of waste along the route and at hotspots. So-called "Clean Team Volunteers" also ensure clean streets and squares.
  • Use of recyclable cardboard cups at all refreshment stations and at the finish line
  • Cooperation with OAK Schwyz to promote climate-adapted forest management in Central Switzerland
  • Collaboration with SUVA and PluSport to integrate runners with mental and physical disabilities
  • Collaboration with charity partners
  • Cooperation with authorities for the integration of asylum seekers

...and much more. You can find our entire commitment here.
