Horw - far more than a suburb of Lucerne!

Marathon and half marathon runners get the chance to run along the Horw peninsula on Lake Lucerne. The runners enjoy also an impressive view on the alps and a beautyful landscape.

Volunteers from numerous Horw clubs and associations make efforts to show the village of Horw in it's best light. The flags are raised, the cantonal road becomes a running track and the pedestrian zone with live music and festival athmosphere is offering various food and beverages opportunities. The notorious Horw "La Ola wave" of enthusiastic spectators carries the runners on their way back to the city of Lucerne.

The 4 to 6-year-old young runners, can enjoy an ambiance here that they will never forget. In the Maratholino they run unforgettable 195 metres in the centre of Horw and are infected with the runner's virus. Thanks to our presenting partner Coop the start for the Kids is for free.

The runners of the 10K can easily reach Horw from all over Switzerland by public transport. They find the necessary infrastructure and race number pick-up in the large Horwerhalle. Their run will lead them around through the village and then back to the city of Lucerne.
