all regulations

Last update: December 1st, 2023

1. By registering for an event organized by SwissCityMarathon - Lucerne (Organizer), the participant agrees to these general terms and conditions (GTC) and the following attachments without exception. These also apply when registering other or additional persons (third parties).

The organizer assumes that these third parties have given the registering person authorization to register. In the case of registration of minor runners by third parties, the organizer assumes that the consent of the legal representatives is present.

    2. Registration is exclusively online. Registrations without receipt of the participant fee within 10 days will not be accepted.

    3. During registration, there is the option to purchase cancellation protection. The paid start fee can be protected in case of accident, illness or other reasons according to the cancellation conditions.

    4. The organizer reserves the right to disqualify participants at any time and without refund of the participant fee if they have made false statements about personal data during their registration, do not comply with the rules and measures specified by the authorities and/or the organizer, or if there is suspicion that they will participate after taking prohibited substances (such as doping).

    5. The organizer may set participant limits. If one is reached, registrations that arrive afterwards will not be considered. Registrations will be recorded upon receipt of payment. In the event of a reduction in maximum participant numbers by regulatory requirements, registrations will be considered based on receipt of payment.

    6. The organizer can restrict access and participation in the event, for example due to regulatory requirements. If a runner does not meet the access conditions, there is no claim for refund of the start fee.

    7. Any changes to the registration can only be made online. Registrations are personal and non-transferable. The organiser may offer an official, chargeable transfer option for sold-out events. Changing competitions is possible as long as start places are available. Higher start fees and options will be invoiced. Refunds or credits for overpaid start fees are excluded. When switching to another competition, the services of the corresponding competition will automatically apply. There is no claim for reimbursement in case of a reduction in services.

    8. In case of cancellation before the communicated deadlines according to the competition announcement, an online voucher will be issued in the value of the paid registration fee, minus a processing fee, valid until the day before the same event in the following year.

    9. For mistakenly double made registrations, an online coupon, worth the paid registration fee, minus a processing fee, will be issued valid until the latest one day before the same event in the following year.

    10. Coupons are only redeemable online, not cumulative and only valid as long as there are starting spots available. Any credit or remaining amounts will not be credited or refunded. Coupons or starting spots from contests or promotions are only valid for the corresponding event and cannot be transferred to a subsequent year. Additionally, these are personal and not transferable to other people.

    11. If deregistration takes place after the communicated deadline according to the competition announcement, any claim for reimbursement of the registration fee will be forfeited.

    12. In case of a start forfeiture, any claim for reimbursement of the registration fee will be forfeited. If a runner is unable to participate due to symptoms, illness or accident (with or without a doctor's note), the claim for reimbursement of the registration fee will be forfeited.

    13. The use of personal data is governed by the applicable data protection declaration. Runners are obligated to provide the organizer with the personal data of third parties only if they, or their legal representative, are familiar with the applicable privacy policy and are authorized to do so according to applicable data protection law. The organizer may at any time ask the runners to prove the existence of these conditions - in particular, the consent of the third parties - within a deadline, and may otherwise terminate all contracts without further notice.

    14. The photos and film recordings made in connection with our running event may be used without claim to compensation on TV, the internet, in advertising materials, magazines, and books.

    19. Event doctors and medical personnel may remove participants from the race at any time if health problems are detected. Participants over 35 years old and those with a history of heart, circulation or lung diseases or other risk groups are recommended to undergo regular medical examinations.

    20. The organizer is entitled to cancel, adjust or relocate the running event for a valid reason. A valid reason exists in particular when the conduct of the running event at the originally scheduled time becomes impossible due to an external, unforeseeable and unavoidable event of force majeure.

In case of cancellation of the event or a subsequent restriction of the number of participants by official regulations up to 2 days before the event, the participants who cannot start have the following options:
