Buy your Swiss Runners Ticket

Tips for buying your SwissRunners ticket
  • You can arrive a maximum of 2 days before (Fri) and return a maximum of 2 days after the event (Tue)
  • In your starter guide, which you will receive around 10 days before the event, there will be a direct link to the webshop. There you can copy in your coupon codes and redeem them.
  • Redeem your ticket in the SBB Mobile app, online or at the ticket counter.
  • Select your desired travel route (from your place of residence to the event location "Luzern Verkehrshaus" or "Horw, Bahnhof") on the desired date and at the preferred time.
  • If you are given a choice of possible ticket options, please make sure you select the Point-to-Point Ticket. Please note: If you select the supersaver ticket, this is only valid on the selected connection at the specified time (not for the whole day).
  • If you are only travelling within the Passepartout fare network , the respective fare conditions apply. You can see whether you are travelling within the network from the information below the route you have entered. Regional tickets are limited in time. For more flexibility, we recommend changing the travel option to "Day Pass". In this case, you will not need another ticket for the return journey.
  • We recommend copying the vouchers from the registration confirmation at the end of the "Purchase process" in the SBB Shop and not typing them in manually.
  • Please complete the purchase process when you enter the voucher for the first time, otherwise it will expire.

FAQ Swiss Runners Ticket

Where can the coupons be redeemed?

Your codes can be redeemed in the SBB Mobile app, online or at the ticket counter.

Are the coupons personalised?

Yes, each runner receives two separate codes, one for the outward journey and one for the return journey. These can only be redeemed once each.

Why are there two codes per runner?

Two coupon codes are required to ensure a certain degree of flexibility, e.g. for arrival and return dates.

Can a SwissRunners ticket be used on several days or can a stopover be made?

No. Your Swiss Runners Ticket is only valid on the calendar day printed on it. Each registration includes one outward and one return journey. The desired day of arrival or departure can be selected during the purchase process. If you do not wish to make your outward or return journey in one go and on the same day, the code can be used for the first or second part of the journey. An additional public transport ticket must be purchased for all other sections of the journey.

How many days before the run can the coupon codes be redeemed?

Tickets can be purchased 1 month before the start of the event. You can arrive a maximum of 3 days before the event (Thu) and return a maximum of 2 days after the event (Tue).

What is the city surcharge?

You can optionally select the city supplement so that you can travel by local public transport (bus) on the outward journey if required.

What do I do if I am travelling from abroad?

The code can be redeemed from a Swiss border station. To do this, go to www.sbb.ch/fahrplan and select the first possible Swiss border station as the starting point (e.g. Zurich Airport, Basel Bad, St. Margrethen, Geneva, Schaffhausen, Chiasso).

What must be shown during a check while driving?

Either the printed ticket or the electronic version on the smartphone must be presented at a checkpoint. Important: The Swiss Runners Ticket is valid in person and on the return journey only in combination with the race number. Please present both without being asked. As with all types of online tickets, you must also be able to identify yourself with an official ID at all times.
