All children between the ages of 4 and 6 can take part in the Maratholino - in Lucerne at the Swiss Museum of Transport or in the centre of Horw.

With starting number 1 on their chest, the children run without time pressure, because with us, everyone is a winner and the focus is on having fun. There is no timekeeping, the names of the kids are published in alphabetical order. Each child receives a special gift and a commemorative medal.

In total, the SwissCityMarathon - Lucerne has more than 13,000 participants and over 50,000 fans. The event always takes place on the last Sunday in October.

Route map

The start is inside the Swiss Museum of Transport Lucerne at the Sponsors Village. The finish line is located in the Museum of Transport at the end of the official finish walkway. The children will be collected directly after the finish.

Recommendation for parents

Start & finish are at the same point. This means you can bring the children to the start and pick them up again straight away without any stress.

Route map

The Maratholino starts in the centre of Horw (Ringstrasse 1, 6048 Horw) and a starting arch marks the exact starting point. The finish is at the festival restaurant in the centre of Horw (Kantonsstrasse 88, 6048 Horw).

Recommendation for parents

The start and finish are 195 metres apart. In order to bring children safely to the start and pick them up again at the finish, it is advantageous to come in pairs. One person at the start and one at the finish will help to avoid unnecessary stress.
