As a marathon organiser and one of the largest half marathons in Switzerland, the SwissCityMarathon - Lucerne is a member of numerous running organisations and has already been awarded prestigious certificates.

Significant memberships

Our aim is to combine guest satisfaction and sustainability in a popular sporting event. That is why we maintain active membership and partnerships and constantly optimise our procedures and processes.

The SwissCityMarathon is a member and partner of the following organisations:

SwissTopSport

SwissTopSport brings together 20 of the biggest sporting events that take place in Switzerland every year and are among the best in the world in their respective sports. Year after year, the 20 STS events make significant contributions to sport, society, the economy and the image of the country and its regions.

AIMS

The AIMS Association of International Marathon and Distance Races, to which the SwissCityMarathon - Lucerne also belongs, is the international association of all marathon and long-distance races worldwide.

Swiss Runners

As an independent association,Swiss Runners promotes running in Switzerland and represents the interests of running organisers. One important project is the Swiss Runners Ticket, which enables free travel from all over Switzerland by public transport to 25 running events.

World Rankings competition

Our runners collect important points for the World Rankings of World Athletics.

Swiss Athletics

Swiss Athletics is the professional organisation for athletics in Switzerland. Its headquarters are located in the Haus des Sports in Ittigen near Bern. Swiss Athletics promotes elite sport and the development of young athletes and supports the development of grassroots sport.

German Road Races (GRR)

German Road Races (GRR) is an interest group of major running events. Its members include many organisers of marathons and road races held in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Turkey and the Czech Republic.

SwissCityMarathon - Lucerne has received the Sustainability Award!
The AIMS recognised the efforts of the SwissCityMarathon - Lucerne in terms of sustainability and presented those responsible with the "AIMS Green Award" at the Awards Gala on 9 November 2018 in Athens.

Official safety and quality standards

5-star certificate as a Quality Road Race

As part of the "Running 4 all" brand, the European Athletics Federation applies official safety and quality standards for running events, which can be used to assess and compare the quality of running events for participants and organisers. The SwissCityMarathon - Lucerne receives the highest rating of 5 out of 5 stars in this evaluation, guaranteeing runners a comprehensive level of safety and a high-quality range of services.
