10K for UNICEF

The 10K for UNICEF at the SwissCityMarathon in Lucerne is the optimal distance for fun-runners and beginners. Officially measured and equipped with numerous highlights, the 10K course offers an unforgettable experience! At the same time you can do something good with your run!

Runners of the 10K for UNICEF can register in a separate starting block.

CHF 30.00 of your paid registration fee will go directly to UNICEF Switzerland.

    In the category without ranking your time is measured, but the list in the ranking list is alphabetical.

    The association "SwissCityMarathon - Lucerne" voluntarily opted for the VAT. The association is registered with the number CHE-112.487.804 VAT. The entry fees include the VAT of 2.5%.

     

  • Starting documents and race number

    You will receive your race number at the race number distribution (expo) upon presentation of the registration/payment confirmation or the start card, which you will receive by e-mail in mid-October. The race number distribution and Marathon Expo at the Hotel Schweizerhof will only take place on Friday and Saturday. Please allow enough time for picking up your race number. A collection on Friday or Saturday is strongly recommended.

    On Sunday race number can be picked up before the race at the starting area in Horw.

    Important : The registration confirmation or start card can be shown on the smartphone or tablet in a digital way. A printout of the start card is not necessary. Together we can avoid over 20,000 printouts and make a further, ecologically valuable contribution.

    The start numbers are not sent by post you need to pick them up personally.

  • Start and finish

    The start of the 10K for UNICEF is located in the centre of Horw on the Ringstrasse. The start takes place at 13.20h. For the exact start times see start times above.

    The finish is in the Swiss Museum of Transport (Lidostrasse 5, 6006 Lucerne).

  • Finish closing time

    Finish closing time for 10K for UNICEF runners ist 3.00h pm.

    Runners who do not cross the finish line within the time limit will not be classified. The end of the official competition is determined by the follow-up vehicle, which is passing the kilometers on time, so that it arrives at the finish within the set time limit. Overtaken runners have to end the race and are no longer part of the official competition.

  • Time measurement

    The chip for the time measurement is integrated in your bib. The time chip don't have to be returned at the end of the race. The race number must be worn visibly and unfolded on the front. 

  • Bag transport

    One bag per 10k participant can be dropped at a special desk at the changing rooms in Horw. Please use the voucher attached to your start number to mark your bag independantly. The bags will be transported to the changing rooms near the finish area in Lucerne. The changing rooms are located either for women at the Sportcenter Würzenbach or for men at the School Würzenbach. To get back your bag at the Sportcenter (women) or School (men) you have to show your start number.

  • Security Instructions

    Instructions given by the race course personnel must be followed. Private escort of runners by all type of vehicles, especially by bicycles or inline skates, is not allowed. Also to run with a dog, a pram, etc. is not permitted. A general ban on driving applies to the whole race course except for the official vehicles of the organisers. Any short cut from the race path and other illegal aids are forbidden.

    Participation in a wheelchair is not possible because of security reasons. The technical directors of the organising committee will make final decisions for disqualifications.

Course

The start of the 10K is in the centre of Horw on Ringstrasse. After a starting loop, the run leads through the middle of the festival and cheering zone from Horw towards Lucerne. On the way there, the route leads through the modern soccer stadium of FC Lucerne - a few metres from the players' benches. Who knows, maybe you will discover yourself live on the big screen in the stadium. The next highlight is already waiting: the Culture & Congress-Center Lucerne (KKL). Finally, the course leads through Lucerne's picturesque old town to the finish arena in the Swiss Museum of Transport.

GOODIES 2019 FOR 10K for UNICEF PARTICIPANTS



10K FINISHER-GIFT 2019

10K finisher will receive a microfiber towl in turquoise this year. The compact microfiber cloth also consists of soft microfibers, dries quickly and fits perfectly into your training bag.

The 10KM and 10KM for UNICEF runners will receive their finisher gift directly after finishing at the Swiss Museeum of Transport, Lucerne.

The Digital Goodie-Bag is a digital starting bag in which informations, exciting promotions and great contests in the form of so-called "coupons" (vouchers) can be found.

Each registered runner will receive an individual access link by email, which will be sent at the end of the respective registration month.
