What is the Day of Good Deeds ?

The Day of Good Deeds is an initiative of Coop, Presenting Partner of the SwissCityMarathon - Lucerne. It is a special day when we are all called upon to do small acts that make the world a little better. Whether it's helping someone, collecting garbage or simply sharing a smile, every good deed counts!

WHAT IS PLOGGING?

Plogging is an eco-friendly fitness activity that originated in Sweden and is a combination of jogging and picking up litter ("plocka upp" in Swedish).

The idea behind plogging is simple: while jogging, runners stop to pick up and properly dispose of any litter they find along the way. Not only does this provide an extra element of exercise, as it involves bending and stretching, but it also helps to clean up the environment and raise awareness of the issues of pollution and litter.

Plogging is beneficial for both health and the environment. It combines the physical benefits of running, such as improved heart health and calorie burning, with the positive effect of helping to protect the environment. Plogging makes parks, streets, beaches and trails cleaner and safer for the community.
